Oh my, it is the dawn of a new year, and with that, the anticipation of the next “amazing” summer at Camp Wigwam. In recent weeks, we have heard countless reports and comments on the incredible 2021 yearbook “Camp Fire Days.” Kudos to Becky Blender and her staff for that memorable look into the 2021 Wigwam season.
On the issue of Bear Lake winter news, we have winners for the “first measurable snowfall” contest. Derek Iovino, Tyler Prozes, and the Kobylinkski brothers (Leo and Gus) may invite friends to join them for lunch at Melby’s Store in beautiful North Waterford, Maine (or take out depending on social distancing restrictions at that time). Neal Goldberg, who’s entry was also right on the mark, will escort these lads. Buffalo burger, anyone?!
As many of you know well, Camp Wigwam, in the pre-pandemic years, would annually host winter reunions at various locations around the globe. We bowled in LA, Tampa, and Denver, lunched in DC, LA, Boston and Baltimore, and “gamed” at Dave and Buster’s in Philly and Miami. Of course, the grandaddy of all reunions was our pre-SuperBowl weekend bash in “New Yawk” city. We are all very hopeful that these “live events” will one day be back on the schedule, and until then, perhaps we can do the next best thing. And so we announce to Wigwam family friends, campers, staff, and Alumni

We’ll enjoy our annual Wigwam Super Bowl Pool (have your picks ready, winning team and total points scored by both teams).. . sing some songs… tell a campfire story or two… and play Wigwam trivia. The only things missing, chicken fingers (remember the ones at Mickey Mantle’s – the best!) and hot fudge sundaes…please feel free to provide your own.
Be on the lookout for upcoming news bulletins on the subjects of Wigwam uniform and gear purchase, updated Parents Day information, and health form completion. Until then, however, let’s meet on Zoom before the Super Bowl, and share some Wigwam Spirit!
Thank you so much for the news and notice about Camp Wigwam. It is and was greatly appreciated. I am probably one of the oldest living Camp Wigwam persons. God willing, I’ll be age 95 in July of this year. Am happy to report am in pretty good shape for my age. Have been blessed. Please do continue to keep in touch with me, and what is going on with the latest news-of and on Camp Wigwam. We had a saying in my day “Once a Wigwamer, always a Wigwamer” and that still applies to me. Have a great summer, and please continue to keep in touch with me. Most sincererly.
Len Schiff, Camp Wigwam, 1937 to 1948 with time out for recession and war.
Sounds fun
Got a conflict that will probably keep me from joining on Feb 13 but looking forward to August in camp.
Will see if I can remote this out of Champagne!! 😉
